Step 4 -- Know when to flee
Learn the art of flight to be Fit 4 the Street another day.
The fight or flight response is automatic. Once a threat is perceived the autonomic nervous system automatically puts the body on alert. Stress hormones are then released and the heart automatically beats harder and faster. Breathing becomes more rapid. The largest muscles of the body receive more oxygenated blood in anticipation of having to fight or escaping from the imminent danger.
Deciding when to flee is an important skill. If faced with a situation involving a weapon or multiple attackers, the best decision may be to flee if a definitive avenue of escape is available. Through various reaction and situational recognition drills, my program will train you to analyze a situation and chose the appropriate response.
When faced with a fight or flight situation, will you have the stamina to make that escape if it involves a long distance or obstacles?
